The Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) stated that the meeting between the presidents of the United States, Donald Trump, and Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, today in Malaysia represents a concrete prospect of a solution to the tariffs applied to the coffee sector.
“It is an opportunity for both economies to overcome the trade obstacle,” he said in a statement.
BSCA highlighted that the eventual removal of tariffs could intensify the partnership between the two countries and the presence of Brazilian specialty coffee in the American market.

The USA is the main import market for specialty coffees from Brazil, purchasing approximately 2 million bags of this product, with revenue exceeding US$550 million per year.
In a statement, the association reinforced the importance of dialogue in an attempt to reverse the taxation presented on the product, so that jobs and income are preserved, in addition to a partnership built over decades between actors from the two nations.
