Presenter Adela Vincze surprised fans at the end of the summer when she revealed that her husband Viktor Vincze will be a guest on her talk show A little differently with Adela. An influencer also sat down in the chair with him Martina Kavalírová a Milan Sedliakknown by the nickname “Docent”, who is a teacher at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the Charles University and also a stand-up comedian.
Already from from the trailer it was clear that the interview with Viktor will be extremely open, as he has gone through a turbulent period in his life and one of the biggest changes – exchanging the position of presenter for the seat of the pilot of a Boeing 737. “What do you learn when a wife asks her husband about his innermost decisions in front of the cameras? And what role does the opinion of their son Maxík play in the key decisions of two media personalities?” she invited people to film.
Only a limited number of viewers will get to Studio L+S, where the interviews take place, but fans did not worry about it, as the talk show has been broadcast by STVR for years. Everyone was shocked when it was revealed that the public broadcaster had decided that Vincze would not appear in the episode in question.
Why did the interview stop?
The decision was also confirmed by STVR itself. “As a public broadcaster, we also perceive the wider context and have decided that this guest will not be part of the show in the current season.” the television said in a statement.
“The decision not to include Viktor Vincze in the show Trochu otherwise was announced to the producers even before the filming itself. This decision is not related to the content of the show or the nature of the upcoming interview, but exclusively with the fact that we consider it inappropriate for a public media outlet to give space to a former commercial television anchor at a time when he is still associated with sensitive news topics,” explained STVR.
“STVR, as a public media, cannot afford to get involved in the political battles of commercial television and its former employee. Viktor Vincze is currently perceived in this context. We are in a tense time when it comes to media conditioning and public trust in its impartiality. That is why it would be extremely unprofessional for Mr. Vincze to try to find free media space for his own presentation through public broadcasting,” she added in the end.
The reaction of Vincze and the producer of the show
Adela and producer Daniel Rabina took note of STVR’s decision not to broadcast the interview with Viktor, but they could not identify with him. “We perceive it as an unreasonable intervention in the dramaturgy of the show, which occurred even before the actual recording of the interview. So its content couldn’t be a problem,” they said in a post on Instagram.
“It’s the first time in 13 years of the show that we don’t have a guest, without a clearer explanation. STVR stated in its opinion that it “perceives the guest in a wider context” – this is not an understandable justification for us. If the broader context is that some time ago Viktor stood up for the preservation of the principles of journalistic work, then it is rather surprising for us that this broader context is disturbing for STVR. In addition, the topic of the conversation was only lightly personal topics,” they added.
At the same time, they emphasized that, according to them, the core of the matter is not about Viktor. “In principle, the problem is that the time is returning when someone decides who can or cannot be on air. Currently, we continue to fulfill all obligations towards STVR and our viewers. This whole situation is extremely worrying for us and we are currently considering how to proceed with the matter,” they added at the end of the post.
Viewers could watch only two of the three interviews
The episode, which caused a huge uproar, was broadcast by STVR on Dvojka on Friday, October 24. As announced, viewers only watched interviews with Martina Kavalírová and Milan Sedliak. Earlier, Adela was flooded with questions from fans who were wondering if they could watch the interview elsewhere. “STVR has the rights to broadcast the recording of the interview, so we don’t see the possibility of publishing it on another platform yet.” explained Vincze at the beginning of October.
The presenter did not remain silent during the Friday broadcast of the deleted part of Trochu. “I’m sitting in the taxi and it occurred to me that today will be the part where Viktor won’t be there, but you’ll see two great other guests!” announced the episode on the social network with a dose of bitterness Vinczeová. On Instagram, Viktor shared a post by his wife and the founder of second hand Nosene, from which the presenter has outfits for filming a talk show. “Today’s episode traditionally had three live guests.
