In a traffic accident in the village of Geča in the district of Košice – surroundings, the driver of a passenger car was killed, who probably drove into the opposite direction due to a sudden medical indisposition. The front part of the car crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by a female driver with two small children. The Košice regional police reported about it on the social network on Sunday.
“The driver and the children were not injured and the breath test was negative. The driver of the second vehicle succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” the police said. The exact cause and circumstances of the accident will be determined by the results of the ordered forensic autopsy.
Paramedics and firefighters fought for the driver’s life. “According to initial information, there was an unconscious person in one of the vehicles. After the arrival of the firemen, the person was freed from the vehicle and the rescuers together with the firemen revived him for more than 45 minutes. Unfortunately, despite great efforts, the person could not be revived,” specified the firemen on Facebook.
