Chicken in basil sauce are juicy rolls stuffed with Mediterranean-style filling. Stuffing to dried tomatoes, mozzarella and garlic. The whole thing is topped with a simple, creamy sauce based on cream and broth, in which, of course, the most important ingredient is fresh basil leaves. This tasty dish is perfect for family celebrations.
To prepare this recipe, you will need:
- 4 single chicken breasts,
- 50 g of dried tomatoes in oil,
- 50 g sera mozzarella,
- 2 tablespoons of fresh basil,
- 1 clove of garlic,
- ½ teaspoon of salt,
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper.
Sos:
- 100 ml of cream 30%,
- 50 ml of chicken broth,
- 3 tablespoons of fresh basil,
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil,
- ¼ teaspoon of salt,
- ¼ teaspoon of black pepper.

You can serve the ready-made rolls with: baguette and light salad. If you prefer a version with warm ingredients, prepare it for the chicken oven-baked potatoes with rosemary, and steamed vegetables.
Chop the tomatoes finely and grate the cheese on a fine grater. Finely chop the basil. In a bowl, mix tomatoes, cheese, basil and pressed garlic. Add half the pepper.
Clean and dry the chicken breasts. Cut each fillet with a sharp knife along the long side, creating a deep pocket.
Sprinkle the inside of each pocket lightly with salt and pepper, and then fill them with the prepared stuffing. Seal the edges with toothpicks and set aside.
Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the chicken breasts in a pan for 2-3 minutes on each side, until lightly browned. Then transfer them to an ovenproof dish and put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes.
Prepare the sauce. In a small pot, gently heat the cream and broth.
In a mixer or blender, mix the basil and olive oil until you obtain a uniform pesto consistency. Add them to the warm cream and broth mixture. Cook everything over low heat for 2-3 minutes, and finally season the sauce with salt and pepper.
Pour the sauce over the chicken rolls and put the dish back in the oven for 5 minutes.
Serve the chicken in basil sauce warm, immediately after preparation, preferably with light salad.
