The Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) said in a statement that it celebrates the dialogue held today in Malaysia between the presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to strengthen trade relations between the countries.
Cecafé highlighted, however, that it is awaiting concrete results for the exemption from tariffs currently applied to the coffee sector.
“The exemption will contribute to reducing the current inflationary pressure on the product in the US market and strengthening the sustainability of the entire Brazilian production chain”, he stated in the text.
