Milei’s party was the big winner and more than doubled its total number of deputies and senators

The result of the legislative elections held on Sunday (October 26, 2025) changed the landscape of Argentine politics. The president’s right-wing La Libertad Avanza managed to reduce Fuerza Patria’s majority.

Considering allied parties and coalitions, the left-wing Fuerza Patria had 98 deputies before the vote and lost 2. Despite the small variation, opposition to Milei’s government saw La Libertad Avanza rise from 44 deputies to 93.

The center-right Pro lost 21 of the 35 seats it had, while Provincias Unidas and its centrist allies kept 17. The other parties had 63 deputies, a number that fell to 37.

SENATE

Among senators, Fuerza Patria lost 8 seats and now has 26. La Libertad Avanza went from 6 to 19 seats in the Senate.

Pro lost 2 seats and will now have 5, while Unión Cívica Radical, which had 13 senators, will now have 10.

The victory represents a significant reinforcement for the government, which is facing an e .

The positive result came from US$20 billion from the President of the United States (Republican Party). Aid played a strategic role in the campaign, allowing the mobilization of resources, advertising and support for candidates aligned with Casa Rosada.

The victory gives Milei greater room for maneuver in Congress, paving the way for privatizations, labor reforms and tax cuts planned since the beginning of his term. Even with strengthening, however, political polarization and provincial resistance may require careful negotiations.

The result also represents a political message about support for Argentina and reinforces the role of international allies in regional campaigns. The president enters the second half of his term with greater control in the Legislature, but with the challenge of balancing radical reforms and institutional stability.

The shares of Argentine companies to the election results. In the period known as after hours – the name given to negotiations carried out after regular opening hours on the North American Stock Exchange – the shares of the Supervielle Group rose around 15.16%, those of Banco Galicia rose 12.9% and those of the state oil company YPF rose approximately 12%.
