Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have lost another member of their communications team. Markle already lost the tenth PR chief in the last five yearsas Emily Robinson has now left the position after just three months in the role.
Robinson, who previously worked at Netflix, was hired in June as the couple’s director of communications. However, according to friends, her departure took place on her own initiative. “It was her decision. She left a few weeks ago. She’s not the type of person to just give up a job, so it must have been really bad that she left.” quoted the newspaper The Mail the words of one of her acquaintances.
Emily previously worked on the series The Crown, which is often criticized for its distorted portrayal of the British royal family. Among other things, she was involved in the promotion of episodes in which Prince Harry was shown in Nazi disguise, or on works with a sympathetic view of Mohamed Al-Fayed.
“Ms Robinson oversaw project work for the highly successful season of With Love, Meghan and provided additional support to the production company. She did an excellent job and successfully completed her projects.” Meghan Markle’s spokesperson said.
Since Harry and Meghan stepped down from their official roles in the British royal family in 2020 and began living independently in California, according to the media, they replaced the least ten PR consultants. Two of them were later transferred to positions other than communication. In June this year, The Sun reported that the couple fired several key associates whom they blamed for a series of media failures.
Emily Robinson was hired just weeks before Meghan Markle’s staff purge. Since leaving the royal family, she has repeatedly encountered negative publicity and turnover of PR workers. The departure of Emily Robinson thus means another loss in the personnel ranks and again worsens the image of Prince Harry and his wife.
