The peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine will be signed in Budapest, Viktor Orbán said in a television interview where he revealed the existence of an anti-war network of leaders.
The Russian-Ukrainian peace treaty will be signed in Budapest, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in an exclusive evening interview for Hungarian public television M1. With reference to the index.hu server, the TASR correspondent in Budapest informs about it.
Orbán, who had a private audience with Pope Leo XIV in Rome on Monday. and a working meeting with Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni, he added that the US-Russia peace summit will take place in Budapest, although it has been postponed for now.
A hidden anti-war network
According to Orbán, there is a hidden anti-war network in the world made up of leaders who everyone knows that peace is the most important thing for them. This network is concentrated in two centers. One is the power center where the real political instruments for peace exist, and that is around the American president. “And there is also a spiritual or mental center of this network, from which the politicians fighting the war again and again draw energy, motivation, determination, blessing and encouragement. And that is here in the Vatican, right with the Holy Father,” he added.
The Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized that the meeting with the Pope was a great opportunity to talk about Budapest and Hungary. He reminded that Leo XIV. he has been to the Hungarian capital before as a member of the Vatican delegation, so he knows Budapest a little.
Energy sanctions
Regarding the sanctions imposed by the United States on Russian oil companies, Orbán said that the Hungarian government is interested in what will happen to Hungarian households. “We have to fight for Russian oil and gas. If there is peace, the prices of energy resources will go down,” he underlined, adding that the countries that import the most Russian energy carriers are also the biggest opponents of Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Even the Americans are aware that Hungary and Slovakia can only import this oil and natural gas from Russia,” concluded the Hungarian Prime Minister.
