The new minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, invited this Monday (27) the former mayor and her husband, businessman Márcio Toledo, to his inauguration into office, scheduled for Wednesday (29), in Brasília.
Marta was vice-president of Boulos in the election for São Paulo City Council last year, when the psolist lost in the second round to Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB).
The couple accepted the invitation and will attend the event, which is expected to bring together hundreds of political leaders and representatives of social movements at Palácio do Planalto.
The appointment of Boulos as minister is a bet by Lula to strengthen his connection with his social base in the race for re-election next year.
