The Update Institute launches this Wednesday (29) the Narrative Map – Between Us, a guide with communication strategies to increase the presence of women in public life.
There will be a debate at the Women’s Commission with the participation of deputies Lídice da Mata (PSB-BA) and Talíria Petrone (PSOL-RJ), journalist Carol Pires and the institute’s project coordinator, Marília Nascimento.
Also planned are live recordings of the Duas e Tanto podcast, with Carol Pires and Marina Dias, and a conversation with Marília Gomes, from Update, Larissa Santiago, co-founder of Blogueiras Negras, and Simone Tebet, Minister of Planning.
The publication is the result of the Women in Dialogue survey, which heard from Brazilian women from different regions, social classes, ages and political orientations. The survey shows that 94% support equal pay, 85% support more women in political positions and 77% point to security as a national priority.
“The study reveals that there are many more points of meeting than division among Brazilian women. It is on this common ground that we can build new forms of participation and representation”, says Carol Althaller, executive director of Instituto Update.
The guide was created through the collaboration of more than 20 leaders from women’s organizations across the country. In it, the importance of speaking from everyday life is reinforced, recognizing that politics is also in care and invisible work and valuing the experience of each woman as a legitimate form of public action.
Among the proposals, the guide presents concepts such as “overlapping consensus”, which shows how women of different beliefs can reach values such as justice, dignity and security through different paths.
It also provides practical examples of messages for different profiles, such as caring mothers, young people from Generation Z, evangelical women, entrepreneurs and scientists.
The material will be available for free download
