Diplomats, businesspeople and ministers, in particular, managed to overcome the effects of harshness exchanged by the two presidents. Even if everything is not achieved —negotiation requires compromise—, for now the main thing has been achieved, which was overcoming the phase of intense friction.
Because if for the tenants of Palácio do Planalto the time has come to replace childish anti-Americanism with rationality, even in the name of electoral gains, for the opposition it is past time to free itself from the chains that keep it tied to Jair Bolsonaro’s ankle bracelet.
Not that he is; even with less relevance, he has the power to transfer votes, but he will be serving his sentence, outside the face-to-face game. This forces the would-be heirs of capital to move — or they will lose.
