Strong winds may occur on the mountains in central and northern Slovakia on Tuesday. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) therefore issued a first level warning. He informs about it on his website.
The warning is valid all day for the districts of Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Poprad, Dolný Kubín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Martin, Námestovo, Ružomberok, Tvrdošín and Žilina. “Temporarily, the occurrence of wind is expected on the mountains, which will reach a speed of 110 to 135 kilometers per hour in gusts or an average speed of 70 to 85 kilometers per hour, which is up to a gale,” meteorologists said.
