Hrušínsky, who has always guarded his privacy, spoke after this surprise and confirmed what had only been speculated about. “I haven’t lived with my wife for 25 years, she’s had her own life for a long time. I’m with my friend Helena, who now takes very good care of me in the house in Karlík,” he explained to the Czech media.

The legendary actor was born on October 5, 1946 in Prague in the family of the famous Czech actor Rudolf Hrušínský senior. At the same time, he is the older brother of the well-known no less good actor Jan Hrušínský and the father of the famous Rudolf Hrušínský the youngest. He is one of the successors of famous acting families.

After finishing elementary school, he studied accordion and piano at the State Conservatory in Prague. in the post-graduation year transferred to the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) in Prague, which he graduated in 1974. Then he performed in the Ateliér theater in Prague, and from 1978 he played in the Činoherní klub theater in Prague for twenty seasons. Currently, he mainly plays in the Theater Without Rails and belongs to successful television and film actors.

He appeared, among others, in the films Signum laudis, Cuts, Jára Cimrman lying down, sleeping, Snow Maiden Festival, Dissolved and Discharged, Village My Center, Good Pigeons Return, General School, Black Barons, Accumulator 1, Buttonmakers, I Served the King of England. Rudolf Hrušinský has three children and his eldest son Rudolf is also an actor. He is also a passionate fisherman, likes to play tennis, likes to paint and owns the U Rudolfa gallery in Tábor and in Planá nad Lužnicí in the Czech Republic. In 1997, Rudolf Hrušinský Jr. won the Czech Film Award Český Lev for the best male performance in a leading role for the film Knoflíkaří.
