“Given President Putin’s refusal to end this senseless war, the Treasury is sanctioning Russia’s two largest oil companies that finance the Kremlin’s war machine,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said at the time. He further stated that they were with the aim of “undermining the Kremlin’s capacity” and defended Washington’s willingness to find “a peaceful resolution of the war.”
Rosneft is a Russian state-owned company that produces about 6% of the world’s crude oil and almost half of Russia’s. Together with Lukoil, they export 3.1 million barrels of crude oil per day. Both are already sanctioned by the US, but this time it is extended to the subsidiaries and related companies of the sanctioned companies in which they own more than 50% of the participation, either directly or indirectly. This new penalty includes the blockade of all assets and interests in US territory, prohibits transactions by US persons or companies and excludes them from the US financial system.
Given this, the Russian television presenter Vladimir Solovyov stated on the Russian radio program Full Contact that the Kremlin should passr from planned exercises to unannounced use of tactical nuclear weaponsas published by the British newspaper . The American president arrived at the White House promising to end the war unleashed by the Russian president against Ukraine more than three and a half years ago, but relations with Putin have become complicated due to his refusal to reach agreements with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Russian propagandist also accused Trump of disrespecting Putin, stating that Russia should use weapons “of a different level of power and cruelty.” In the video, Solovyov continues his speech by suggesting that Venezuela should receive weapons to take the fight to the United States.
