As the Panel showed, Wassef had been using his influence over local city hall to promote “personal interests.” The lawyer denies the accusation.
On November 7th, Wassef will inaugurate the new PL headquarters in the city in the interior of São Paulo. “It will be a remarkable moment of unity, purpose and new paths for the future of our region and Brazil”, says an invitation sent by him via messaging tool.
According to the invitation, the presence of the party’s national president, Valdemar Costa Neto, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), the party leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), the party’s state president, Tadeu Candelária, and the president of the Legislative Assembly, André do Prado (PL), are confirmed.
Wassef is based in Atibaia and became known for sheltering former Bolsonaro advisor Fabrício Queiroz, accused of being the pivot of a scratch card scheme, in a house in the city.
When contacted by the Panel, Wassef did not respond to contacts.
