In the Czech Republic, the possible structure of the future government is taking shape

The newly forming Czech coalition of ANO, SPD and Motoristi concluded an agreement on the government program. Approved nominations include Tomio Okamura as nominee for Speaker of the House.

The nascent Czech coalition of the ANO, SPD and Motoristi sebe parties has definitively agreed on the program of the likely future government. After the negotiations, the first vice-chairman of the ANO movement, Karel Havlíček, announced it on Wednesday. Their common nominee for the post of chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament (PSP) of the Czech Republic will be the head of the SPD, Tomio Okamura, reports TASR in Prague.

“The coalition council has definitively agreed on the coalition’s program, we have no contradictions there, we have specified some details and we can state that it is definitively 100 percent complete,” declared Havlíček. The program will be presented on Monday immediately after the signing of the coalition agreement before the start of the constituent session of the Chamber.

They agreed on several nominations

ANO Vice-President Alena Schillerová added that the parties also discussed the staffing of the bodies of the Chamber of Deputies and agreed on nominations for the chairman and vice-chairmen. She confirmed that Tomio Okamura will be the joint nominee of the emerging coalition for the post of PSP chairman. Patrik Nacher for the ANO movement, Jiří Barták for Motorists and from the future opposition Jan Skopeček for the SPOLU coalition and Vít Rakušan for the STAN movement are nominated for vice presidents. Regarding his name, Schillerová pointed out that he is still the Minister of the Interior and, due to the incompatibility of the functions, his election cannot take place while he is a minister. According to her, the post will probably remain vacant for the time being.

Okamura said he appreciates the nomination for House Speaker, but it remains to be seen how that will play out. He added to the discussion that the parties have no disagreements on any topic and described the debate as working, substantive and positive. The chairman of Motorist Petr Macinka also commented on the negotiations as substantive and effective. He did not want to comment specifically on the question of whether the Motorists insist on the nomination of Filip Turk as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
