In a time marked by speed, multiple stimuli and the constant need to adapt, leading is no longer just about leading: it has become an exercise in presence, listening and internal updating. It is in this scenario that this week’s episode of Voz que Eleva is sustained. Presenter Irinéia Barbosa welcomes Rafael Norberto, specialist in Communication and Leadership and founder of Guide Mentoring, for a conversation that covers the world of work, the behavior of new generations and the role of leadership in building real bonds.
During the dialogue, Rafael shares a perspective that comes from daily practice and observation: we live at a fast pace, where communication needs to keep up with the times. When asking how a leader who still communicates at a 1x pace can establish dialogue with those who live at 4x, he does not point to an inevitable distance, but an invitation to review. Before waiting for younger people to adapt, leadership needs to re-examine its own fundamentals and open up to new ways of leading.
This reflection involves recognizing what no longer makes sense, letting go of rigid structures and allowing space for the new. Leading today goes beyond the idea of guiding people: it is a continuous process of review, learning and reinvention.

The conversation also shifts the focus on youth. Instead of reinforcing statements like “no one wants to work”, Rafael proposes genuine attention. He recalls an experience with young people aged 13 to 17, where he preferred to ask: “What do you want to build?” The answer reveals not disinterest, but a desire for meaning. There are dreams, just in other forms. What we are looking for is belonging, purpose and connection with something that makes us truly live.
The dialogue also expands to topics such as spirituality and presence. Rafael compares the mind to a fire: without firewood, the flame goes out. Nurturing what moves us, be it faith, purpose or discipline, is what sustains the path.
This episode is an invitation to rethink how we lead and relate. A more human leadership, which welcomes, listens and learns, recognizing that each time has its own rhythm. The challenge is not to control the new, but to build bridges to cross it together.
