Ministers want to understand the mega-operation that left 64 people dead; government says it was not previously communicated
The ministers of the Civil House, Rui Costa, and of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, will travel to Rio on Wednesday (29.Oct.2025) to meet with the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL). The government says it was not warned in advance about the mega-operation against the Red Command that left 64 people dead and 81 people arrested.
The trip was decided at an emergency meeting held on Tuesday night (Oct 28) at Palácio do Planalto. The meeting was called by interim president Geraldo Alckmin. In addition to Costa, the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, participated.
