The police are investigating a traffic accident that happened on Wednesday at the intersection of Žilinská and Štefanovičova streets in Bratislava. A tram collided with a car there. Bratislava regional police spokeswoman Katarína Bartošová informed TASR about this.

“The tram ended up off the track after the impact,” Bartošová added that the driver of the car was taken to one of the Bratislava hospitals for treatment. Alcohol was not detected in any of the drivers. In connection with the accident, the traffic of tram line 1 is interrupted, a replacement bus service is deployed. Transport company Bratislava informs about it on its website.
Line number 1 runs from the Vysoká stop via Radlinského to the terminal Stn. Vineyards and back. Replacement bus service X1 operates in both directions in the Blumentál section via Kollárovo nám., Hodžovo nám. to the main station. At the same time, the police ask drivers to be more careful when driving through this section and to follow the instructions of the police. He recommends using alternative routes for crossing.
