Mint is an herb known primarily for its intense scent, which has accompanied people for thousands of years. It comes originally from the Middle East. It must be added that there is definitely not just one mint. There are at least 40 members of the Mentha genus and all have a typical scent of varying intensity and flavor. You can find mint in the wild, but also in many gardens. But beware, it behaves strongly expansively and grows widely into the surroundings.
The ancient Romans believed that mint can not only attract luck, but even protect the house from evil spirits. If you want to try it, go ahead. However, you can mainly expect a positive effect on your digestion and mind.
The history of the use of mint is varied. People also knew it well in the Middle Ages, when it was also used in baths, because according to the ointment makers and spicers of the time, it had cleansing and strengthening effects. People dried it, mixed it with honey, or added it to wines. Modern science refutes some effects and confirms others. The problem with the studies that have been published so far is primarily the small number of participants. However, even these smaller works indicate that the mint is telling us.

How to make mint tea
You can do all kinds of magic with mint, but the easiest is making tea. Do not complicate your life unnecessarily and add mint tea or lemonade to your drinking regime.
Ingredients:
- 0.5 liters of water
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves or two teaspoons dried.
- If you like, add a slice of lemon or a spoonful of honey. However, it is not necessary.
- You can also combine mint with a number of other common herbs. It tastes great with lemon balm, lavender, chamomile, sage or thyme.
Procedure:
- Bring the water in a saucepan to a boil.
- Add the mint leaves and let them infuse for 5-10 minutes.
- You can add lemon or honey for refreshment and vitamin C, but it is not necessary. The tea is good even without them. It is not sweet, but the strong aroma makes the drink naturally pleasant.
- Serve it warm or let the tea cool and drink as a refreshing drink during the day.
The question is not how, but also when. It affects us a little differently every time.
