President of the Senate will discuss with Renan Calheiros the progress of a project that expands the exemption range for those who receive up to R$5,000 per month
The President of the Senate, (União Brasil-AP), stated this Thursday (October 30, 2025) that he intends to take the PL (bill) to a vote next week, which expands the IR (Income Tax) exemption range for those who receive up to R$5,000 per month.
At the end of a joint session of the National Congress, Alcolumbre said that he will discuss the progress of the project with the rapporteur at the House, senator (MDB-AL).

The expansion of the exemption is a campaign promise from the president (PT) and should be used as one of the flags of his bid for re-election in 2026, if he receives final approval from Congress.
