The police have charged six people with the continuing crime of fraud and the crime of forgery and alteration of a public document after the Gran Turismo event on Tuesday (October 28). According to the police, the acts were committed in an organized manner. Police officers in several parts of Slovakia carried out eight house searches, five searches of other premises and 12 personal searches. The police reported about it on the social network.
“At the same time, a criminal prosecution was also initiated for the unauthorized possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances and the illegal arming and trafficking of weapons,” wrote the policemen. Competent authorities have filed a motion to take all the accused into custody.
As the police added, an important element of the operation was the activity of the financial investigation unit of the Office for Combating Organized Crime. She conducted extensive financial investigations and processed the asset profiles of the accused.
“On their basis, extensive property was secured – real estate, motor vehicles, bank accounts, cash and luxury items – in the total value of more than 1.1 million euros, which corresponds to the currently proven damage. However, according to the findings so far, it is assumed that the actual damage will be several times higher,” the police concluded.
