Russia attacked Ukraine again: drones and missiles injured 11 people, including small children

On Thursday night, Russia again attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. Attacks overall injured 11 people in the Zaporozhye region and caused power outages in several parts of the country. TASR informs about it according to the AFP agency.

The head of the military administration in the Zaporozhye region, Ivan Fedorov, wrote on Telegram that Russia had hit several residential buildings in the city of Zaporozhye. According to him, among the 11 injured are also six children between the ages of three and six.

Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchukova said that “Russia has once again launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.” In a post on Facebook, she informed that as soon as possible, rescue workers, maintenance workers and energy specialists will begin to remove the consequences of the attack, restore electricity supplies and assess the extent of the damage.

The operator of the Ukrainian electricity grid, Ukrenergo, reported that as a result of the attacks, electricity supplies were interrupted in most Ukrainian regions. Ukraine also attacked with drones at night. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, its forces managed to shoot down 170 Ukrainian drones, mainly in the Bryansk region. Kiev also tried to attack Moscow again, in the vicinity of which nine drones were shot down.

With its attacks in recent times, Russia has mainly targeted the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Ukraine reacts to this with its own attacks aimed mainly at Russian oil refineries and other energy facilities.
