Tarcísio offers solidarity with Castro and criticizes the rise of crime in the country

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), expressed solidarity with the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL), after the mega-operation of the Rio de Janeiro security forces against the Red Command.

In a demanding tone, Tarcísio defended the strengthening of surveillance at borders, the fight against money laundering and the adoption of tougher rules against persistent debtors.

“The vast majority of weapons and drugs sold in the country are not produced here. So, how did they reach the communities in Rio? This highlights how much the State has failed to monitor its borders”, he stated.

The mega-operation, considered by the Civil Police Secretary, Felipe Curi, “the biggest blow ever suffered by the Red Command”, resulted in 113 arrests, 10 seizures of minors, 118 weapons and 14 explosive devices seized, in addition to tons of drugs still being counted.
