Saturday’s V sedem nebi show will be soulful. The audience is once again waiting for three extremely powerful stories, the central theme of which will be the departure of a loved one and coping with this situation.
One of the stories will also belong to the Rypal family from Rajec. Paľo Rýpal was one of the best Slovak investigative journalists, he disappeared 17 years ago.
Recently, the situation with the Rypal family has been extremely tense. Every minute they are waiting for a phone call about the discovery of Paľ’s body. They will never come to terms with his death, but hopefully placing his remains in the grave would take away at least some of the enormous burden and uncertainty. In a Hungarian prison, Norbert Kosťov recently confessed to the murder of Paľ Rýpal. The paradox is that 2 days before this confession, Iveta started taking steps to declare her missing brother dead.
Paľ’s mother Matilda and sister Iveta will come to the studio. “I was very proud of him, but I was afraid. Very much. I also warned him several times to stop it. He always answered me with the question: ‘Do we need to write about it?’ We do. I enjoyed reading those articles very much. I ran to the newsstand and bought more titles to give to friends and show off. Look, Paľko has a beautiful article,” Ms. Matilda mentions the work of her son, who was widely regarded as one of the best investigative journalists in Slovakia.
When Paľo disappeared, Mrs. Matilda thought he would hear from her in three or four days. “But it didn’t happen. So I didn’t sleep. I walked around the garden, I also smoked. I started smoking a lot – twenty or thirty cigarettes a day, I lost ten kilos in that week. Palko was a beautiful and good person. He tried to help everyone. Well, when it had been going on for over a month, I thought that it wouldn’t happen that he would report back. I was already convinced that they canceled it, that they killed it,” she adds.
In 17 years, the forests around the village of Mužľa, where they allegedly buried Paľa, have changed beyond recognition. Kóstov gropes.
