Kate Middleton – Prince William: They won a lawsuit against Paris Match

Kate Middleton – Πρίγκιπας William: Η μετακόμιση στο «παντοτινό τους σπίτι» θα γίνει μέσα στον Νοέμβριο

Kate Middleton and her husband have won a privacy lawsuit against French magazine Paris Match for publishing paparazzi photos of them and their children while on holiday, the magazine said in a statement today.

William, the eldest son of King Charles and heir to the British throne, strongly defends his family’s privacy when they are not attending official events. It is the second time the princely couple has been vindicated in a lawsuit they have filed against a French magazine, following that against Closer, which had published topless photos of Kate in 2012.

The family sued Paris Match, owned by French luxury goods group LVMH, in April, days after it published pictures of them in the Alps. “The Prince and Princess of Wales are committed to protecting the family’s private time and ensuring that their children can grow up without undue scrutiny and interference,” a Kensington Palace spokesman said.

Paris Match did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.

The couple is known to be trying to give their three children, Princes George and Louis, aged 12 and 7 respectively, and Princess Charlotte, 10, as normal an upbringing as possible.

William, aged 43, has made no secret of his dislike of the media since his mother Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997. Her vehicle had sped to avoid pursuing paparazzi. He and Kate were also victims of wiretapping, according to lawsuits against newspapers in Britain.

Paris Match released the statement today, saying it had breached the family’s privacy. Lawyers for William and Kate told the court that the couple preferred the announcement to be published rather than any compensation being paid.
