Slovak Information Service (SIS) plans to build a new data center and modernize technical intelligence. In addition, it would like to introduce a new communication system for the mobile phones of its members. This follows from the published SIS Development Strategy 2025 – 2032.
“The modernization of technical intelligence is one of the key elements, which is necessary for the high-quality performance of the tasks of the Slovak Information Service, which follow from the law, including in the virtual space. The implementation of modern technologies and methods into the activities of the Slovak Information Service will naturally increase its reach to information in the online space and at the same time will increase the speed and quality of processing large volumes of data that the current, dynamically developing, online world produces,” the Secret Service said in the document.
In addition, according to her, technological development requires a transition to a certified platform that would enable secure communication and secure transmission of classified information. It also plans to switch to quantum encryption.
“In the near future, the advent of quantum technology is expected for the cryptographic protection of information to such an extent that it could threaten the safe and certified data transmission of classified facts. For this reason it is necessary to start the transition to quantum-resistant cipher elements during the year 2025 so that the certified cipher connection is still ensured at the national level and with institutions within NATO and the EU,” wrote SIS in the material.
The secret service also expects to change specialized information and technical means. In this context, the strategy mentioned technical devices capable of transmitting sound or image and recording them.
