A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the southeast coast of the Kamchatka region, in eastern Russia, this Monday (3), reported the USGS (United States Geological Survey).
The tremor occurred at a depth of 24 km, according to the USGS.
In July, the region was hit by one and generated tsunami warnings around the world.
July’s quake was the world’s strongest since 2011 when a magnitude 9.0 tremor hit northeast Japan, triggering a devastating tsunami.
He is tied for the sixth strongest on record.
