“It’s a family and personal drama.” Marco Costa will resign from the mandate for which he was recently re-elected in Setúbal. “We were all taken by surprise”, says mayor Fernando José.
The PS municipal deputy Marco Costare-elected in the last local elections for the Municipal Assembly of Setúbal, was arrested on Saturday for robbery on public roads, a socialist source confirmed to the Lusa agency today.
“The only thing I can say is that Marco will resign from his mandate as a deputy in the Municipal Assembly and that this is a case that has nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with political action. It’s a family and personal drama”, councilor Fernando José told the Lusa agency.
“We were all taken by surprise. We deeply regret the personal and family drama”, added the socialist mayor.
The news of the arrest of municipal deputy Marco Costa “for robbery on public roads” was announced this Monday morning on the newspaper’s official page on the social network Facebook.
The newspaper states that another suspect was also arrested.
Sources from the Setúbal PS confirmed to the Lusa agency that Marco Costa will have been notified to appear before the Setúbal Court this Monday.
