The state of emergency will end: the Department of Tourism and Sports will support UNB with such an amount

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports (MCRŠ) of the Slovak Republic will support the University Hospital Bratislava (UNB) with the amount of 150,000 euros. The hospital will use the money to buy a new spiroergometric line for the department of physical education medicine. The equipment is essential for carrying out preventive examinations of athletes and ensuring high-quality diagnostics and health care. TASR informed the department of communication and marketing of the MCSRŠ about this.

“We consider this to be an important part of every athlete’s life. Only healthy athletes can perform adequately and fully prepare for their sports goals. We are happy that years later comprehensive health care for athletes will be provided at the appropriate level.” said Minister of Sports Rudolf Huliak (independent).

According to the department, the purchase of a new line will help to solve the emergency situation at the workplace. The current device has been in service for 24 years and cannot be further serviced or used for mandatory examinations of athletes.

“I very much appreciate the interest of Minister Huliak, with whom we agree on the need to develop activities that contribute to the support of athletes. Our department of physical education medicine has top experts who have long been dedicated to medicine that helps athletes to perform better. The renewal of equipment gives us space to perform more performances, preventive examinations of athletes and supports our intention of specific care for athletes and meeting their needs.” declared UNB Director Alexander Mayer.
