O game indie The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chroniclescreated by the Italian studio Fix-a-Bug and available for PC at Steam by R$ 41,99became a sensation on the networks — but not because of its gameplay. The title gained fame after a machine translation error transform your name into something unusual: “The Crazy Hyper-Shitty Dungeon”or, in Portuguese, “The Hyper Crazy-Dungeon of Shit”.

the team used a AI to translate the name into Japanesesearching for a word that conveyed the meaning of “strange” or “weird” (awkwardin English). The problem is that the algorithm chose the Japanese term “Shit” (Kuso) — which, in practice, means “shit” or “crap”.
The error did not go unnoticed: Japanese gamers noticed the bizarre translation and began sharing images of the title on social media. The result was a popularity boom — the game quickly climbed Steam wishlists and became a international meme between players.

The game creator, Giorgio Macratorereacted with good humor to the situation.
“I noticed the game started getting added to wishlists at a crazy rate. I thought it was because of a media article, but it turns out it was because of the name. I’m laughing so hard about it. I just can’t tell my mom that I made a game called Merda’s Dungeon”, joked the developer on X (formerly Twitter).
Macratore confirmed that a new Japanese translation is ongoing, led by the publisher 2P Gamesto correct the mistake — although many fans ask that the original name be kept as a “historical joke” of the indie industry.

Despite the comical title, The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles is a 2D dungeon crawling roguelike com randomly generated stages. The game offers three playable classes — Destroyer, Explorer e Resolver —, as well as quick combats, traps, puzzles and purposeful humor, with references to classics like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
One free demo is available on Steam, and several reviews highlight the irony:
