The Judiciary Police released a video that reveals the interior of the narco-submarine intercepted in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, in an operation that had the support of the Portuguese Navy. The vessel was transporting around 1,700 kilos of cocaine destined for the Iberian Peninsula.
The images show the cramped space and precarious conditions in which the crew traveled, surrounded by carefully packed bales of drugs. The vessel was detained after a complex surveillance and monitoring operation on the high seas.
The four crew members, from Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela, were arrested and are now in the custody of Portuguese authorities. The case is being investigated by the Judiciary Police, in conjunction with international organizations to combat drug trafficking.
In a concerted action between the AEA, an operation to combat drug trafficking took place, which made it possible to intercept a semi-submersible, belonging to a transnational criminal organization, carrying more than 1.7 tons of cocaine, destined for the Iberian Peninsula.🎯
