The commission will have 11 members and 7 substitutes, with a term of 120 days, which can be extended. There is still no consensus on who will be president.

Watch:

The installation of the CPI was announced on Wednesday (Oct 29), 1 day after the one in Rio de Janeiro against the CV (Comando Vermelho) which left 121 people dead, including 4 police officers.

So far, the names selected indicate a majority of opposition members. Some of them are (PL-RJ), son of the former president (PL), and (União Brasil-PR).

The senator (Podemos-ES) was appointed as holder, but, if he maintains his license, he must be replaced by (PL-AC). Another Bolsonaro ally, (PL-ES), is also licensed and could be replaced by (Novo-CE).

Parties such as the PP and Republicans have not yet nominated their representatives, which could increase the opposition’s vote margin.

On the government side, the PT appointed the leader of the bench in the Senate, (BA), and (SE) as incumbents. (ES) will be a substitute.

Other senators close to the government, such as (PSD-BA), (PSB-GO) and Vieira himself, should also join the group.
