Carreras began his career at youth level with clubs in Galicia. He started at Galicia de Caranza’s academy, then at Racing de Ferrol (since 2007) and then at Deportivo de La Coruña in 2012, where he was converted from striker to left-back. In 2017 he joined Real Madrid’s youth teams, where he remained until 2020.
In September 2020, he signed with Manchester United, staying at the English club mainly in the youth teams, in addition to the under-23 team.
To gain experience, he had loans: to Preston North End (English champions) in 2022-23 and to Granada CF in the 2023-24 season. In January 2024, he was loaned to Benfica, later joining the permanent club.
Carreras: situation at Real Madrid and contract
