According to the official statement, the donation of the land where the families live was authorized in 2023, and now depends only on measures by the Associação Esperança de um Novo Milênio, a donating entity in the area. The government also claims to have provided technical support, including the preparation of engineering projects for the site.

“The State fulfilled its part by donating the land and providing the necessary technical support”, highlighted the text.

The government further explained that the selection of beneficiaries follows the rules of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (MCMV) program, in the Entities modality, and that families mentioned in previous agreements during the repossession of a public property in the Irineu Serra neighborhood would be prioritized if they meet the requirements of the federal program.

The demonstration, which began in the morning in front of the Civil House, closed Avenida Brasil and, later, concentrated on Ponte do Concreto, in the center of the capital. The group demands dialogue with the government and states that the regularization process has been at a standstill for months.

The Military Police followed the mobilization and managed to clear part of the road without clashes. Despite this, residents say they will remain mobilized until they receive direct feedback from the public authorities.

With the note, the government reinforces that the process is ongoing within legal procedures and reiterates that the responsibilities of the state administration have been fully fulfilled.
