is an insect from the hemipteran family. It comes from North America and most likely came to Europe with the transport of wood. It was first noticed in Poland in 2007 in Wrocław. It started spreading very quickly.
This bug is brown in color and quite large – measuring from 1.5 to 2 cm. Its characteristic features are long and thin antennae and wings.
It walks very slowly and does not run away, but it is better not to catch it, as it emits an unpleasant odor that lingers in the house for a long time. It poses no threat to humans, but it contributes to the death of firs, pines, spruces and Douglas firs. All because it sucks the juice from the cones.
