Marshawn Kneeland reportedly fled from agents after demonstrating suicidal tendencies; athlete died from a gunshot to the head

According to police in Frisco, which is near Dallas, Texas, the 24-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was allegedly chased by police in a car after showing suicidal thoughts. The player crashed the vehicle and escaped on foot. He was found dead at around 1:30 am this Thursday.
Kneeland was in his second season with the Texas team and had scored a touchdown just three days earlier. In a statement, the Cowboys lamented the loss of the athlete. “It is with deep sadness that the Dallas Cowboys announce that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a much-loved teammate and a respected member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend, Catalina, and his family,” the franchise said in a statement.
A second-round pick in the 2024 Draft (56th overall), he missed six games due to injury in his first year. In his second season, he already had a sack, 15 tackles and six quarterback pressures.
