Moderator Jaroslav Zápala has been part of Markíza TV since 2000. Initially, he started working as an editor of Športové noviny. After some time, he switched to the main evening news. Viewers may have noticed recently that Zápala has disappeared from the television screens. As he revealed to , he was hit by two difficult events in a short time.
Zapala underwent surgery in secret. The well-known presenter left the hospital in Malacky with crutches. “I underwent an operation a few days ago in a hospital in Malacky, a right after I moderated Televízne noviny. I went right after work, finished my weekly shift and went to have as much recovery time as possible – so I could sit down or maybe even stand in front of the camera afterwards“, he revealed.
He put off a complete knee joint replacement for many years. “I seriously injured my knee during the match. I remember exactly when it happened – January 26, 1986. I even remember the name of the opponent who did it to me. I’ve been playing football for years and I’ve given that knee a lot of work. The cartilage was completely destroyed, I had no choice but to replace it,” revealed what was the reason for the operation.
Shortly after the difficult operation, however, the most painful wound came. The presenter’s beloved father died. “Today, our father, grandfather, former youth coach and football fan passed away. He went to a place where the game is no longer for victory, but for peace. Father, thank you for everything, rest in peace. Forever in our hearts.” bequeathed him to heaven.
