Throughout his career, he has repeatedly drawn attention to the suffering of civilians in conflict zones and has been cooperating with the United Nations for a long time. This time she decided to visit Ukraine and the city of Kherson, which was badly hit by the Russian invasion in the past. However, the visit was not without incident, one of its drivers was detained and subsequently taken to the army.
According to Ukrainian media, the incident took place in the Mykolaiv region, where Jolie’s convoy was stopped by a patrol. The Ukrainian driver, born in 1992, could not present the required documents. The local authorities subsequently discovered that he was a reserve officer who was not subject to a valid exemption from mobilization, so they took him to the conscription center.
According to available information, Jolie personally tried to clarify the situation and came to the place where the driver was detained. However, the Ukrainian authorities emphasized that the actress and her team did not in any way interfere with the work of military personnel. After the situation was resolved, Jolie continued on her way.
