Former President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro (PL) asked the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes for authorization to receive new visitors at his residence in Jardim Botânico, in Brasília, where he is under house arrest. Among the names are the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União), and the Secretary of Public Security of São Paulo, Guilherme Derrite (PP).
According to a request sent to the Supreme Court, the visit by Caiado, a pre-candidate for the Presidency of União Brasil, would have a “humanitarian and political-institutional” character, with the purpose of “maintaining respectful channels of dialogue between political leaders” and without dealing with judicial matters.
In the request for a meeting with Derrite, Bolsonaro’s defense states that the objective is to “allow a personal and direct conversation, on a date yet to be defined”, due to the “need for dialogue” between them.

A licensed deputy, he must temporarily leave the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat to report on the anti-terrorism bill being processed in the Chamber.
In addition to Caiado and Derrite, visits are requested from Bruno Scheid, vice-president of the PL in Rondônia; federal deputies Ubiratan Sanderson (PL-RS), José Medeiros (PL-MT) and Evair de Melo (PP-ES); and former deputy Odelmo Leão (PP-MG).
Bolsonaro has been under home arrest since August 4 and can only receive visits with the authorization of Moraes, rapporteur of his case at the STF. He was sentenced by the Court to 27 years and three months in prison for leading the attempted coup d’état after the 2022 elections.
On Friday, the 7th, the First Panel of the Supreme Court will analyze the motions for clarification presented by the defense of the former president and the other defendants in the central group.
If they are denied, there is still one more possibility of appeals before the conviction becomes final (final).
