PASSOS (MG) – Brazil has become the main global market for the Heineken and Amstel brands, said the brewery’s global CEO this Thursday (6). The company has just opened its largest factory in the country in Passos (MG) and one of the company’s largest projects in the world in the last decade.

During the opening event of the factory, which is expected to reach a production capacity of 500 million liters annually in the coming years, global CEO Dolf van den Brink confirmed that Brazil has already become the main market for the Heineken and Amstel brands.

“Today is about future growth: we are sure that Brazil represents growth — GDP, investments arriving in the country,” he stated. “When we decided to invest in this brewery, we didn’t think about the next five years, but the next 50.”
