Carrot syrup has a thick, viscous consistency, which coats the mucous membrane of the throat, creating a natural protective layer for it. It moisturizes the throat and larynx and reduces its irritation, often responsible for the cough reflex. It brings relief, just like onion syrup or honey, which are more famous.
Its main ingredient is carrots, which contain natural sugars, pectins and antioxidants that dilute phlegm and facilitate its removal from the respiratory tract. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, vitamins A, C, K, E, K and B vitamins
Enriching the syrup with is also important, because it has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, and ginger warms, improves circulation and contains anti-inflammatory compounds: gingerols and shogaols.
Remember that carrot syrup will not replace professional treatment in the case of bronchitis or angina. It can only be additional support for mild infections.
If the symptoms are long-lasting or worry you from the beginning, you should definitely see a doctor. You can also use it preventively twice a day, 1 tablespoon.
