Why isn’t Pedro playing?
Pedro is out of the match because he suffered a fracture without displacement in the ulna, one of the bones in the right forearm, during the first duel against Racing, at Maracanã. The South American semifinal match was played on October 22nd.
Due to injury, Pedro has been a constant absence in recent games. The striker was left out of the matches against Fortaleza, Racing (in Argentina) and Sport.
When will Peter return?
The average healing time for this injury varies from four to eight weeks. As he is a young and healthy athlete, the prospect is that he will be fine in four weeks, that is, from November 19th.
The objective is to have number nine recovered in time to compete in the final stretch of the Brasileirão and, above all, to be available for the Libertadores final, scheduled for November 29th.
Pedro is showing good progress. Flamengo is already planning to introduce activities on the field, involving stimulation with the ball, accompanied by the medical department. Next week, the club will change the immobilization and start releasing more workload on the field.
When recovery completes four weeks, an X-ray will be performed to analyze calcification. The club has already produced an immobilization for the attacker to use in matches and is in the process of having another as a plan B, in case there is an authorization problem with the match referees.
