What is Palmeiras’ relationship with Lando Norris?
The relationship between Lando Norris and Palmeiras began spontaneously. The McLaren driver began to show sympathy for the São Paulo club in 2021, when he went to a team game at the stadium for the first time.
Since then, the Briton has adopted Palmeiras as his favorite team in Brazil, interacting with players and fans. The identification grew to the point where the Alviverde club sent personalized shirts to the pilot.

Palmeiras also started interacting with the driver on social media, publishing messages of support on race days and responding to mentions made by him.
Lando Norris’ first contact with Allianz Parque took place in November 2021, when the British driver was in Brazil to compete in the São Paulo Formula 1 GP.
Taking advantage of his time in the capital of São Paulo, he was invited by Palmeiras to watch the club’s match in the Brazilian Championship, against Atlético-GO. The game ended with a 4-0 victory for Verdão, a symbolic number, as the driver uses the 4 in the car.
After watching the duel in the box, he, who was with a Brazilian friend who is also from Palmeiras, was introduced to the cast and posed for photos with Dudu and Abel Ferreira, in addition to receiving a team shirt.

“4-0 victory last night. I’m number 4. It wasn’t a coincidence, Palmeiras”, wrote Norris in a post on social media after the match.
Interactions between Norris and Palmeiras
In addition to the most recent publication wishing the British driver luck, Palmeiras has always had interactions on social media with Lando Norris over the last few years, between exchanging messages, jokes and celebrations.
In 2023, the pilot congratulated the club on the Brazilian Championship title and reposted official Verdão publications. The São Paulo team also celebrated Norris’ victories on the tracks.
Previously, in 2021, the British driver congratulated striker Dudu, after winning the Libertadores da América against Flamengo, with a comment on an Instagram post.
