How does the NBA regular season work?
The NBA is made up of 30 teams, divided into two groups, the Western and Eastern Conferences. During the regular season, each team plays 82 games, 41 at home and 41 away.
Eastern Conference teams face Western Conference teams twice during the regular season. Within the division, which is created according to geographic criteria, the teams face each other four times. And with rivals from the same conference, but from different divisions, three or four games are played.
The six best teams in each conference go straight to the playoffs. The other two are played using the play-in, or repechage, system.
