The death toll in the UPS plane crash in Louisville, which occurred on Tuesday (4), rose to 11 and “is expected to reach 12” by the end of Wednesday (5), Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said at a press conference.
“Our fatality count is now at 11, expected to reach 12, possibly by the end of the day, and we are still looking for a few other people who we hope were not at the scene and are hopefully elsewhere,” Beshear said.
Among the victims, at least one is believed to be a child — “and a small child, which makes everything even more difficult,” said the governor.
Beshear reported that the bodies are in the recovery phase.
