Federal deputy and pre-candidate for governor of Brazil, Glauber Braga (PSOL) says in an interview with the online magazine Breeza and the podcast Saindo da Estufa that the far right is promoting “bukelization” in the state.
The reference is to the president of , , who adopted a hard-line policy and mass incarceration against gangs in the Central American country. The actions receive criticism from human rights entities due to signs of abuse.

“Claudio Castro is linked to extreme right-wing politics and, in this sense, he is an object of something that is greater in the relationship with the United States, in what they want to call narcoterrorism to facilitate a process of intervention in Latin America”, he says.
In the interview with the vehicles, Braga says that his mother, Saudade Braga, who was mayor of Nova Friburgo (RJ) and died last year, used medicinal cannabis in treatment against Alzheimer’s.
“If the use had been carried out earlier, her situation would have been different, but she was already at an advanced level. The difficulty in gaining access for use is very great.”
The deputy is in favor of the legalization of drugs and defends that cases of abuse are dealt with by public health.
“I have friends, there are people close to me who smoke marijuana on a daily basis, people I’m close to, and I never thought I had to say anything to them about it.” He, however, claims to have never tried it.
