He had a busy day this Wednesday (5). In the morning the British heir lived up to English punctuality and at eight o’clock in the morning he visited the where he was received by Cardinal Dom Orani Tempesta, by the rector of the Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer, Father Omar Raposo, and by Mayor Eduardo Paes. In good Portuguese, the Prince of Wales saved people with a “Good morning”, in Portuguese. At Christ, William visited the chapel at the foot of the statue and learned about the history of the monument, which is 94 years old, and recreated the iconic photo of his mother, Lady Di.

In the following hours, the prince met with the finalists of the Earthshot Award. The award was created in 2020 and awards one million pounds sterling (around R$7 million) to five projects to protect the environment. The awards ceremony will be an event full of celebrities, with the participation of artists such as Anitta, Kylie Minogue, Shawn Mendes (main attraction) and Seu Jorge, among others, who will walk the “green carpet”.
