Sankhya bets on AI and empathy to transform management and the future of work

The revolution brought about by artificial intelligence is profoundly transforming the way companies operate, and the Human Resources sector plays a central role in this process.

For Sankhya, one of the country’s leading providers of business management systems (ERP), the advancement of AI marks the beginning of a new era — one in which technology and empathy go hand in hand, redefining both people management and business management.

Flávia Gama, head of product at Sankhya RH, explains that the HR function becomes much more strategic as automation takes over operational tasks.

“HR exists to take care of people, and this role will be even more genuine. The technical part tends to be leveled with artificial intelligence; behavior is what will differentiate people”, he states. For her, data is essential, but it is not enough.

“Raw data doesn’t say everything. It is necessary to understand the causes behind the numbers, because it is the human eye that interprets, welcomes and transforms.”

Organizational culture guide

According to Flávia, the intelligent use of data allows HR to be, in fact, a guide for organizational culture. “The data shows where there is overload, where there are underutilized people, but it is the empathetic look that makes the difference. Technology should free up HR professionals’ time so they can focus on human development, not operational development.”

She cites as an example a Sankhya client company that reduced the time spent on payroll by 40% after automating processes, redirecting professionals to strategic functions. “They gained time to think about the bigger picture, plan better and act in a more humane way”, he says.

This combination of technology and human sensitivity, according to the executive, will be the basis of the future of leadership. “The leader of the future is an empathetic leader, who genuinely knows his followers, understands their dreams and recognizes that personal and professional lives are connected. Leadership is, above all, knowing others”, he highlights.

AI refining management systems

At the other end of Sankhya’s technological transformation, founder and CEO Felipe Calixto believes that artificial intelligence is also solving an old pain in the software market: the time and complexity of implementing management systems. “I usually say it was, because at Sankhya that pain is gone. Now we deliver much faster”, he says.

The company developed an AI agent capable of revolutionizing the ERP implementation process. Based on a ready-made model of “essential processes” — which encompasses areas such as finance, accounting, commercial, tax and BI —, the system eliminates the need for extensive customizations and speeds up delivery.

“Before, an ERP project could take up to two years to implement. Now, in three or four days, the client already has the system working. This is transformative”

— Felipe Calixto, CEO of Sankhya.

The executive highlights that Sankhya inverted the traditional logic of the market, replacing exhaustive customization with a model that brings the best management practices already consolidated.

“The client no longer needs to reinvent the system. We deliver a ready-made solution and guide them to apply solid management fundamentals. Before the client said: I want to do it my way. Now we show that the best practices are already there. We are the management specialist”, he says.

For Calixto, this new phase represents more than operational efficiency — it is a leap in mentality. “Artificial intelligence does not come to replace people, but to expand their potential. With technology doing the heavy lifting, there is time and energy to innovate, lead and grow. It is a vision of abundance, not scarcity.”

By uniting automation, data and humanization, Sankhya believes it is shaping the future of business management and work.

In an increasingly technological scenario, the company reinforces the idea that the leading role will continue to be human — driven by artificial intelligence, but guided by empathy and the ability to transform information into purpose.

Turning spreadsheets into results

In this scenario, Ploomes was born from the need to transform the chaos of spreadsheets into more efficient commercial management.

Created by Matheus Pagani and his partners, the startup emerged after the founder identified, through his father’s experience in the sales sector, the limitations of monitoring teams and results manually.

“We wanted to simplify the process of placing a sales operation within technology, making everything more standardized and accessible,” explains Pagani.

The platform grew quickly among industries and distributors, segments in which integration between CRM and ERP is essential.

“The seller generates proposals and orders for customers registered in the management system, so the two bases need to talk”, says the CEO. This interdependence ended up bringing the company closer to Sankhya, a reference in ERPs in the country.

Conversations between the two companies began in 2021 and culminated, in 2022, in the acquisition of Ploomes by Sankhya. Since then, the platforms have operated in a fully integrated manner, offering companies a more fluid sales and management experience.

“With Ploomes and Sankhya together, we were able to deliver a much faster and more efficient solution”

— Matheus Pagani, creator of Ploomes.

Even after the acquisition, Ploomes maintained autonomy and entrepreneurial culture.

“We continue as an independent unit, with our partners still in the business. Sankhya’s thesis is to give each company the freedom to continue growing, but with strategic synergy”, he highlights.

According to Pagani, this union represents the balance between the agility of a startup and the strength of a large group — with the common objective of transforming data into decisions and spreadsheets into results.
