Air restrictions and security zones

The Brazilian Air Force has established a system of three air control zones. The white zone, furthest from the event locations, remains with open air space. The yellow zone has restrictions for drones, while the red zone has total restrictions for aircraft. Within the red area, there is also a suppression nucleus with an absolute prohibition on any type of aerial device.

Around 3,000 FAB soldiers will work during the event, which runs until next week. Access control is strict, with entry only permitted with a credential provided by the UN for COP30 or by the Brazilian government to monitor the leaders’ summit.

The security scheme focuses especially on the roads close to Parque da Cidade, the central location of the event. The authorities seek to balance the international meeting with the normal functioning of the city, allowing residents to maintain their daily routines, even with the necessary restrictions.
